The most common way to trim the cardboard frame pieces is using a utility or carpet knife with a new blade for easiest and best appearance afterward.

       These 4 frame pieces need to be trimmed in height. This modification in no way affects play.

Length modifications of 6 frame pieces.

Each piece was sectioned using a sharp utility knife. Then rejoined on the backside using clear shipping tape with edges trimmed. The tape makes for a  hinge allowing use of the frame.
